  Former Nigerian President Obansanjo, Rents Out His 25- bedroom Apartment for N10 per Annum




A 25-room building which will serve as secretariat of the newly established Cocker-Ibogun local government in Ogun state, has been rented out by former president Obasanjo at a meager fee.
According to a report by Premium, former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has rented out his 25-room building in Ibogun village in Ifo local government area of Ogun State at N10 per annum for the use of the newly established Coker-Ibogun Local Council Development Area, LCDA.
 It was gathered that the building will serve as secretariat of the council and has facilities such as water, toilets and a standby generator.
 The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, recently created 52 LCDAs aimed at delivering dividends of democracy to the grassroot, and one of the LCDAs is established in Ibogun, hometown of the former president, who in appreciation offered to rent out the building to the council at a meager fee.
The chairman of the Coker-Ibogun LCDA, Juwon Gbadebo, confirmed Obasanjo’s gesture to members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, led by Olusola Sonuga, who were on oversight function to the area.
Gbadebo said the action of the former president would boost development in the state.
 The council boss also said the council was able to rehabilitate an extension of a mini water scheme and sink a motorised borehole to prevent water borne diseases through the provision of drinkable water in Iyanalogbo area.
Sonuga enjoined the LCDA to seize the opportunity it now had to ”maximise resources and and generate more revenue,” adding that more needed to be done by LCDAs to ensure that the people at the grassroot recieve the dividends of democracy.

Kidnappers Attacked By UNIABUJA Student


Following recent cases of abduction, theft and molestation in the University of Abuja, some students on Friday attacked men suspected of entering the school premises to kidnap girls, and set their car ablaze.

The incident was confirmed by the student union president, Abeeb Obasanjo. Mr. Obasanjo however said the situation was under control.
“We have security issues right here and we are doing our best with the school security to curtail it,” he said.

A student, Damilola, explained to swiftentertainment2.blogspot.com Friday night that the alleged kidnappers came to the school on Tuesday to pick some ladies adding “that the ladies never came back.”


Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari Advices Spanish Govt. To Speak With Catalonia To Gain Peaceful Resolution


The Federal Government Friday urged the Spanish Government to embrace dialogue and seek peaceful resolution to the contentious issues surrounding its strained relations with Catalonia following its recent declaration of independence.
The foreign ministry stated that government had “watched with keen interest” recent developments in Spain and therefore encouraged parties to act within the framework of the constitution.
“We are confident in the ability of the Spanish Government and its institutions to resolve the issue amicably and secure the unity and territorial integrity of Spain.”

'Africa Cannot Dream of Catching up With The Rest of the World' Jonathan Said


Goodluck Jonathan has said that the African continent has to begin to dream it will catch up with the rest of the world on technological advancement.

He disclosed this while speaking at the 2017 roundtable of the African Presidential Leadership Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The former President said there is a need to recognise the most brilliant students and focus on building them to bring about the development of the continent.

Jonathan advised African governments and the private sector to invest more in education as a means of bringing about the “required economic advancement and repositioning”.
“The truth is that God did not bless all of us equally with the same quality of brains. The distribution of the human brain is not uniform" He said.





Evans Have Begin to File His Bail Application.


Suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, has filed an application seeking to be released on bail and for his case to be given an accelerated hearing.

But the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms. Titilayo Shitta-Bay, described the bail application, seeking accelerated hearing filed alongside an application seeking to quash the charges as conflicting, confusing and an abuse of court processes.




Adoni Chukwudi (A 26 Year Old Man} Has Been Sued To Court for Stealing Employers' N2.7m in Ekiti State


A man is being made to pay for his alleged criminal action after he was found out to have made away with his employer's money in Ekiti. A 26-year-old man, Adoni Chukwudi, has been arraigned by the police on Thursday ‎before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft. Reporters that the defendant of no fixed address is standing trial on a count charge of theft.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Monica Ikebuilo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 16 at about 0430hrs at Arowolo House, Kilometer 2, Ikere Road, Ajilosun in Ado-Ekiti.






Nigerian Woman, Mary Begs Court For Divorce, Calling Her Husband a Thief





Mary, who is married to an Ibadan-based businessman, Mr Ibrahim Gbadamosi, said he was deceived into marrying him for about 20 years unknown to her that the man is a criminal.
“Neither Ibrahim nor his friends told me that he was a criminal until he was jailed at Ile-Oluji in Ondo State.

“There was a time I sold some of my property to secure his bail until I got to know that he was a serial pickpocket.

“My Lord, Ibrahim is yet to pay my bride price,” she also told the court.

Gbadamosi had approached a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan seeking the dissolution of the union. He accused her of infidelity and masterminding an attempt to kidnap one of his children.

Marry added, “My husband is a thief and not a businessman as he claimed.

“My Lord, although, I have agreed to part ways with Ibrahim, I must reveal some `hidden truths’ about this man that calls himself a businessman.

“I never knew what he was doing for a very long time and I became very uncomfortable with his lifestyle.

“All I knew was that security operatives used to come and arrest him and his friends used to run from one place to another to gather money for his release.”

The estranged wife, who said she would not object to the request of her husband for the dissolution of the marriage, described it as good riddance to bad rubbish.

“He doesn’t worth it; let him go,” Mary said.

Earlier, Ibrahim, who resides at Soka area of Ibadan, told the court that his wife let him down in his time of “trouble and persecution”.

He regretted that his wife’s situation degenerated to the extent of her becoming a prostitute.

“This hit me like a big stick. I can confirm to this honourable court that our landlord’s younger brother impregnated her and had been sleeping with her ever since.

“Moreover, Mary usually launch attacks on me with the intention of inflicting bodily injuries or even terminating my life.

“As if that was not enough, Mary and our first child conspired to kidnap my child given birth to by my second wife.

“The matter was reported at the police station where they were both made to sign an undertaking never to involve in kidnapping again,” he said.

Ibrahim, who said he was incarcerated for 16 months for importing contraband, alleged that Mary did not visit his shop, thereby allowing all the goods to rust.

“Please, this honourable court should allow her daughter to be with her. I am ready to give her anything she wants on a monthly basis to cater for her.”






Mr Jide Tinubu (Tinubu's first son) is confirmed died


The first son of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progessives Congress (APC), has been reported dead. According to Lagos APC Chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale in a short statement on Wednesday said: It’s with regrets that I inform you of the demise of Mr. Jide Tinubu, the Son of Our dear and esteemed Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
