Banky W was born in 1981 in New York, United States of America. His original name is Oluwabankole Wellington. He studied Engineering at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York, the United States on scholarship.
He, however, practiced as an engineer for a while before facing his true calling, music.
Banky W, since then has gone on to have a successful music career. He also established the careers of today’s pop stars Wizkid and Skales through his record label Empire Mates Entertainment otherwise known as EME.
Within the last few years, Banky W has diversified
his portfolio by branching into movie directing acting. The star singer
featured in the highly successful 2016 movie ‘The Wedding Party‘. He would be reprising his role in the sequel in December 2017.
Banky W was once was one of the most eligible bachelors in Nigeria until February 2017 when he shocked the world by announcing his engagement to Adesua Etomi who was his love interest in ‘The Wedding Party‘.
The R&B singer recently made headlines after he disclosed that he underwent a successful skin cancer surgery.
This would be the third time that the singer had battled skin cancer.
Right now, the music heartthrob is recuperating as he prepares for his
big wedding.
Banky W is a ladies man. His marital status won’t stop the ladies from crushing on the famous Mr. W
